Are you memorable to your clients?

When you visit a customer, do you leave something behind that brands your business and has your client remembering you?  It doesn’t need to be expensive - there are lots of unique things you can do. A landscaper could leave garden seeds with planting instructions attached to their company details.  An excerpt from “Time Poor, Cash Strapped Marketing” (page 9) available from the online shop.

The simplest form of market research actually costs you nothing!

Remember to ask every customer and potential customer “how did they first hear about you”.  A great test and measure of the effect of your advertising, promotions and networking efforts.  An excerpt from “Advertising & Marketing In a Nutshell” (page 6) available from the online shop.

Does your most given away item work for you?

Before you print your next business cards, do you have a call to action visible in print?  Think about how you can drive traffic to your website or to your location.  For eg a solicitor could say “log on to my website at …… to view a list of items to discuss with your family before you write your will”.  An excerpt from “Marketing for the Impatient” (page 6) available from the online shop.

When did you last click through all the links on your website?

Can you be sure everything is user friendly and still working as you expect?  If your website readers get frustrated with corrupted information they will hit the exit button in seconds.  Very few will bother to tell you what is inactive.  There is no point having your website as your silent salesman if it is faulty.
